Fortnite login: create and link your Epic account

Updated

Fortnite Hub has no login, and we never ask for one. Here is how to use the real pages safely.

This is not the Fortnite login page

To log in to Fortnite, use the game itself or type epicgames.com into your address bar. Never enter your password on a site reached through an ad or a message, and never on this one: we have no login. Look for epicgames.com or fortnite.com as the real site.

Fortnite account creation: how to make an account

Fortnite uses an Epic Games account. Epic warns that if you have played on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or another platform, you may already have one. Finish that account instead of making a new one, so that your progress stays together. The sign-up steps are:

  • Go to the Epic Games sign-in page and choose to create an account.
  • Enter your date of birth.
  • Use an email address, or sign in with a supported provider.
  • Enter the 6-digit security code sent to your email.
  • Link your platform accounts if you are offered the option.

My Fortnite account lost its progress

Epic says the usual cause is logging into the wrong account, or a console that was unlinked. Check your linked accounts on Epic's site before you panic. Be careful about unlinking: Epic's help notes a limit of once every 365 days for some changes.

Keep your account safe

Turn on two-factor authentication, and never buy or use free accounts offered for sale. Stolen accounts get taken back. Rocket League uses the same Epic account, so you can link it the same way. For anything else, submit a support ticket to Epic player support through its own site. If you cannot log in at all, check the server status first.

Frequently asked questions

›Do I need to create a new Epic account if I already played on console?

Not necessarily. Epic says you may already have an account from playing on a supported console. Check the account linked to your platform before creating another one.

›Where do I enter the console activation code?

Use the address shown inside Fortnite and sign in only on the official Epic account flow. An activation code links an account; it is not an item-reward code.
