Updated

It is a chest drop with odds of 1 in 1,562,500, far rarer than the Pirate Shop Token. Here is what is confirmed and what is only reported.

What is the Weekly Gold Outfit?

It is a rare gold Outfit in the Treasure Hunters mini-season, and Fortnite Status lists it as one of the treasures found in chests. Reported weekly lists are built around that week's Captain, so the gold Outfit is expected to change as new Captains arrive.

Some sites describe it as a quest reward. It is not listed that way: Fortnite Status says the treasure is found in chests just like other items.

The official odds

Fortnite Status puts the Weekly Gold Outfit at 1 in 1,562,500 per chest in a normal match. That makes it about 11 times rarer than Pirate Shop Access. At that rate, 1,000 chests give about a 0.06% chance, and a 50% chance takes roughly 1.08 million chests. Try your own numbers in the calculator above.

Fair warning: for nearly everyone this will not drop. Enjoy it if it does, but do not plan your week around it.

Treasure Hours make the biggest difference

Fortnite Status lists the Weekly Gold Outfit at a 7.5× boost during Treasure Hours, and it reached 10× in the November 7 evening session. That is a bigger boost than the token gets. It is still rare: 7.5× works out to about 1 in 208,333 per chest.

If you only have a little time to hunt, spend it inside a Treasure Hour. Our Treasure Hour timer shows the next window in your time zone.

Which gold Outfit is it this week?

Epic has not published a full list that we can find. Here is what we can and cannot support:

  • Week 1: Solid Gold Rugahand, the name in the game's cosmetic data, part of the A$AP Rocky set. Most sites call it Solid Gold A$AP Rocky. It comes with Solid Gold Gauntlets, a reward Pickaxe in the same data.
  • Week 2: Solid Gold Lil Uzi Vert is reported from dataminer lists, as covered by VICE. Epic has not confirmed it.
  • Week 3 onwards: we have no reliable list, so we are not guessing.

When does it change?

Epic says a new Captain arrives each Sunday, with the November 8 Captain's Day at 9 AM ET. Reports link the weekly treasure pool to that change. We have not seen Epic say whether a past week's gold Outfit can return, so assume you should not count on it.

Tips that actually help

You cannot find a secret spot, because the odds apply per chest. These are the only things worth doing:

  • Open as many chests as you can during Treasure Hours.
  • Play with a party. Beebom reports that party members also receive exclusive chest items when one person finds them.
  • Ignore anyone offering the gold Outfit in return for a login or payment. Our scam guide explains how those work.
  • Fortnite Status says you cannot get the same treasure twice, other than Gizmos, so a second copy is not something to hunt for.
